A Healthy Trend

One of Woodstock's most talented and successful healers is Lainy Reicher (www.vitalhealthofwoodstock.com).  In a recent column she points out a healthy trend:  For the first time in more than a decade prescription drug use decreased in the U.S.

Drugmakers say the decrease is simply a result of the recession, but a deeper look shows a very different reason.  The almost complete abandonment of hormone drugs such as estrogen, which were increasing cancer rates in women, put a dent in prescription use numbers.  Addtionally, many ohter drugs were found to  be dangerous or deadly over the last few years.  And there's another significant reason--

The public is finally becoming aware of the dangers of many prescription drugs.  And millions of Americans are spending more money on natural cures and prevention.

The drug companies will continue to flood the airwaves with promises of ending our pains and medical issues through drugs.  Americans are getting smarter about what's true and what's hype.
